Once a crossroad for pirates and a shelter for the exiled Shah of Iran, the islands of Las Perlas are beginning to make a comeback among the international jet set. The archipelago boasts some 57 beaches, varying from immaculate white to brilliant gold and ebony black sand.

The waters here teem with an impressive marine life, including marlin, sailfish, and mahi-mahi, making this a superb destination for sports fishing enthusiasts. Other water sports include scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing and wildlife watching.

Las Perlas is considered by many Anglers, one of the best Fishing Spots in the World; over 250 world records have been established or broken in these waters.
